“Seoul Players presents Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, an absurdist tragicomedy set in a world beyond time and place. The one-act centers around the blind and chair-bound Hamm, his elderly parents, and his servant. With nowhere to go and not much to do, they spend their days retelling the same stories and discussing the futility of existence.”

Introducing the Cast and Crew
The Director: Janete da Rocha

Hailing from New Jersey, US, Janete spent much of the 2000s and early 2010s involved in community theater, but it wasn’t until she moved to Korea that she began directing. She is excited to have found such a wonderful theatre community here in Seoul and hopes to continue working with Seoul Players on future projects.
Stephan Matthee as Hamm

Stephan is a South African actor and director, hailing from the town of Hermanus. Educated at Stellenbosch University, he has been an active part of the Seoul theatre community since 2016. He is excited to bring the part of Hamm to grumpy life!
Madeleine Hanwell as Clov

Madeleine is a British actor and writer from Bristol who first performed with Seoul Players during the 2024 10 Minute Play Festival. Previously, she has taken part in drama productions at Reading University, where she studied Literature. She is excited to be performing again and delighted to have been cast as Clov.
Nico Cediel as Nagg

Nico is a British actor and dancer with experience ranging from community theatre in Carmarthen, Wales, to uni productions at the University of Leeds, and now adds Seoul Players to that list. He is very excited for his theatrical debut in Seoul to be the crusty, deteriorating, bin-dwelling Nagg.
Lorien Kayleigh Goener as Nell

Lorien is a German actor and dancer with a background in film and television studies, educated at Ruhr-University Bochum, Sungkyunkwan University, and Korea University. In her first role for Seoul Players, she is excited to bring out her inner granny onto the stage as Nell!
The Stage Manager: Louis Groves

Louis has been involved with the Seoul theatre community for several years. His performances with the Seoul Shakespeare Company include King Lear and Measure for Measure. With Seoul Players, he has taken on multiple roles as a performer, director, and producer for the annual ten-minute play festival. He also contributed backstage for the Collective’s production of Booty Candy. Endgame marks his first time stepping into the role of stage manager.
