It is with our deepest regret that Seoul Players is cancelling the 10-minute play festival for 2020. We have been following the news and after the most recent outbreak causing spikes in COVID19 cases as well as the most recent government mandates, we do not see any way that we can go forward with this festival in its current format.
We believe that the safety of all those participating is paramount. Those of you who have already volunteered your time to read plays and participate in our reading weekend in order to choose the current 16 plays we thank you very much. Please know that your time was not wasted. Seoul Players will be discussing ways to bring these plays to the public. Unfortunately, our current time frame does not allow for adjustments to be made to do these plays justice. We also do not believe that it is fair to ask those who would be travelling across the city or potentially across the country to put their health at risk.
For those who were planning to audition, we hope that you will be available to audition for us in the future. There were so many new individuals signed up to audition and that was truly exciting. This festival is very much about meeting new people and we look forward to meeting you in the future.
