
Seoul Players is presenting a staged reading of Acute Accent this month. It was written by local actor and playwright Rory Kelly.

Rory Kelly is a playwright, comedian, and improvisor hailing from the UK. He started writing plays in 2010, and his scripts have been performed all over the world. His stage play, Mother and the Monster, was staged at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, selling out and receiving glowing reviews. You can find more of him @Rorykellycomedy on Instagram.

Rob/Hig read by Louis Groves

Louis has been involved with the Seoul theatre community for a few years now. He has performed with the Seoul Shakespeare Company twice, in both ‘King Lear’ and ‘Measure for Measure’. With Seoul Players, he has been a performer, director, and producer for the annual ten-minute play festival. He has also worked behind the scenes as both a stage manager and an assistant stage manager.

Luke James Adams has recently been cast in the 2026 production of Taming of the Shrew with the Seoul Shakespeare Company. This will be his first time working with Seoul Players, and he is excited to get involved in more local theatre projects.

Charlotte McQuaid trained in East London, earning an HNC in Performing Arts. She has toured across the UK with Plastic Monkey Productions and performed internationally in Istanbul with Speech Bubbles Theatre and in Seoul. Recently, she played Peter in Romeo and Juliet with the Seoul Shakespeare Company and Marilyn in Our Favourite Son at the Seoul Players’ 10-Minute Play Festival. She is currently studying an MPhil in Theatre and Performance.

Alana read by Laramie Wilcox

Laramie Wilcox earned her BFA in acting from Bard College and a certification from the Michael Howard Studios Conservatory in NYC. She performed as Lady Capulet in the Seoul Shakespeare Company’s “Romeo and Juliet” (2025) and she’s also been a performer in the Seoul Players’ 10-Minute Play Festival for the last two seasons.
