Playwright: Hugh MacKay
Hugh MacKay is a Boston-based playwright whose comedies explore the humor, heartbreak, and humanity within life’s most serious moments. His plays include Mr Bunny, The Greatest Card Trick, Basic Wait, Hero Day (based on a true story), Jacques of the Night, and Madam Zorba.
His work has been produced by Break A Leg Productions, Salem State University, Theatre Southwest Houston, Tiger’s Heart Players, Open Eye Theatre, Players Workshop San Miguel, and other companies.
Madam Zorba was produced by The Old Opera House Theatre Company, where it won the Silver Curtain Award and was named Best New Play in West Virginia.
Hugh recently completed his MFA at Lesley University and is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America. He can be reached at hugh-mackay.com.
